Summer Sizzler 2014

Overview

The Heat is Back for 2014! AKYSB brings you  Summer Sizzler, to be held on Sunday 22 June, at JFS School, Kenton, London.

Summer Sizzler provides an opportunity for the UK Jurisdiction Jamat to come together and take part in popular mixed gender sports as well as a range of other fun activities. The Jamat’s non-Ismaili spouses and children are encouraged to attend and participate.

Spectators are encouraged to attend; there is no admission fee. A barbeque lunch can be bought on the day.

  • Mixed Dodgeball
  • Mixed Netball
  • Mixed International Volleyball

U16s Sports

Bait’ul Ilm Sports Day has been brought to Summer Sizzler. Compete with your Bait’ul Ilm in the first National Sports Day for those aged 3-15 years. Registration includes the chance to take part in all of the activities, which include:

  • Sports Day Races
  • Rounders
  • Dodgeball
  • …..And more to be announced closer to the day!

Registration will be on an individual basis and participants will be allocated teams before the event. If you or your child would like to be in a certain team, then please email us at: summersizzler@iiuk.org and we will do our best to facilitate.

Discounted prices are avaliable for families with more than one child.

U3s Tot’s Zone

The Early Childhood Education & Development committee will also be present running a dedicated area for zero to three year olds. On offer will be a variety of activities guaranteed to stimulate parents, carers and children including music and rhyme, sports day races and a bouncy castle!

*All categories are subject to demand and require participation from a minimum number of players and teams in order to be held. We reserve the right to cancel play of any given category if the minimum numbers are not received by the deadline date.

The following contributions are requested for participation and include the provision of a barbeque lunch. For tot’s, a children’s lunch will be provided. Parents and spectators can purchase a barbeque lunch on the day.

Driving Directions

From the North
  1. Take the M1 towards Edgware / Watford
  2. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Spur Road / A410
  3. Turn left onto Marsh Lane / A4140
  4. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto The Mall

From the East/North London
  1. Take the A406 towards Wembley
  2. Exit onto A408 toward Kingsbury
  3. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Salmon Street

  5. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto The Mall

From the South
  1. From the South, get yourselves to the M25 towards M4 / Heathrow Airport in the most efficient way possible for you
  2. Get off the M4 at junction 3 and follow signs to the A40 westbound
  3. Come off the A40 at Hanger Lane roundabout
  4. Take the 2nd exit to the A406 towards Wembley
  5. Slight left onto Neasden Lane North
  6. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A4088
  7. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Salmon Street

Parking

There are ample parking spaces available at the site on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Please do not park on the driveway leading up to the main buildings as this needs to be kept clear in case of emergencies.

Public Transport

Travelling by bus: routes 628, 653, 683, 688 and 79 all stop along The Mall. Please check Transport for London website below for bus routes in Kenton.

Travelling by Tube: Kingsbury is the nearest tube station and is on the Jubilee line. It’s approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the tube stop to the venue. Use the tube map to plan your journey.
